Mari Annus

family therapy student

I have always been fascinated by the question of how a person functions and how to understand their physical and mental needs. I am a family doctor and currently studying to become a psychotherapist specializing in family therapy. I work daily with people in both medical and mental health fields, and this versatile experience helps me understand the person as a whole. I believe that physical and emotional problems are closely interconnected and require a holistic approach.

I graduated from medical school in 2014 and subsequently started my residency in family medicine. As a doctor, I have over 10 years of experience. I have witnessed how family relationships, past experiences, and emotional burdens affect our health. My desire to offer more than just medical care motivated me to study family therapy. Now, I work with families, couples, and individual clients who want to improve their relationships, understand family patterns, and explore the influence of their family of origin.

I am a mother of two children and share everyday life with my spouse, whose children from a previous marriage are also part of our family. Thus, I know from personal experience what it means to live in a blended family, practice shared parenting, and manage a family with diverse needs. At home, I am also accompanied by a dog, a cat, chickens, and a garden. In my free time, I enjoy reading and sports. I am involved in a start-up company related to medicine and artificial intelligence, which keeps me constantly evolving and surrounded by new ideas.

I provide services in both Estonian and English.
